Swingers X-treme Summer 2012

This is my new summer softball team that my high school coach coaches. I decided to play for him instead of my old team because he actually pushes us and conditions us to make us better players. Jim just let us goof around and not warm up right, slack off, and whatever else we did. There's no way that Dawson would let us get away with any of the BS that Jim did. Jim was more worried about the team bonding then actually how we played. And what I don't get is last year we were actually good even without practicing 3 times a week and warming up the right way. But I would never take back my decision of switching teams. I love my Swingers X-treme team and wouldn't go back.

These are 3 of the 5 out fielders. Starting on the left is Chelsea, then Katie, and then there's me.

We had a tournament in Omaha so in between games we decided to go to Dicks Sporting Store. We found these shirts and decided to put them on over our jerseys and take a picture. "My game is sick..... too bad it ain't contagious"

After every game we "Shake Hands" but we really don't literally shake hands we just walk though and high five and say good game, nice job, or anything like that.

Another 3 of the 5 outfields, I am on the left, then Morgan, then Chelsea's on the right.

Huddling in our group before we bat at the start of our game because we lost the coin flip and got guest. Home is when you are in the field first and bat last at every inning so that's a huge advantage to the game. Guest is where you bat first so that could also be an advantage but you have to hold then in the last inning.

Me hugging my outties. I love them!!!!

I am #6 and i am smacking Paige's butt telling her good job! Paige is #2 obviously.

Another team huddle. Getting a little talkin too..

Paige, Katie, and I on top of Paige's car before practice.

On top of Paige's car again. Yeahh this is normal for us.

I am on the left, then Paige, then Humm. We were watching the Doane softball team play. Humm plays for them but has a concussion so couldn't play for a while. We were protection ourselves for getting hit by the ball. Yeah i started that.

Us outfielders just being ourselves. Chelsea, Katie, and I during our last game of that tournament in Omaha.

LSE State Softball 2011

My freshman year I was not good at all. I could not hit one soft toss, my pitching wasn't that great like the rest of the pitchers, and I wasn't in shape. I ended up making JV and not playing one game. My sophomore year I made JV swing Varsity and played the first two games with JV then went to go run for the catcher well our center fielder roller ankle running into home so I ended up going in for her. I put down two bunts and did my job. I played Varsity ever since. I have came a long way from my freshman year just in the limited amount of time I had. I now have a 65% scholar ship to play softball in SCC Beatrice and couldn't be happier with my improvement. I have came a long way and there's no way I could of done it without my mom!

This is my high school team laying behind the dugout waiting for our game to start. This is State softball of my senior year so it is a very exciting time for us seniors that will be graduating from this year. I cant tell you what we were talking about because it was at the beginning of the year back in October.

This is my high school team doing our huddle before the game starts and our cheer we do before every game but this is state so we had to cheer extra loud.

Every state you walk with a sign representing your school. My Coach Tim Roberson found this really old sign from when our JV coach Dana Wertz was in high school. He thought it was really cool and has been looking for it for a long time so he decided to have us walk with it. He always says the same quotes over and over again like "Tradition never graduates!"

These are the 4 senior captains. I am #6 Taylor is #7 Dana is #2 and Tori is #4. The original captains were Taylor, Dana, and I. We have been playing all 4 years of high school and Tori only played her senior year because she played volleyball the first 3 years of high school. Since it was state Roberson decided he wanted all 4 seniors for the coin flip to determine who's home and who's guests.

This is our 2012 sign that one of the parents made. I think a parent made this but I am not exactly sure. It is way different than the one that we walked with on the field for many years ago.

One of our team huddles on the field our pitcher needed to relax a little bit, she was very nervous and didn't want to mess up but instead of telling herself "I can do it" she was saying "Don't mess up" which is a lot worse and you are more likely to mess up.

Nebraska Swingers 2011 Summer Team

This is my summer team from last summer.  This was my second year of being on this team. This picture was taken during Nationals in Kansas City our last tournament of the summer. I was currently injured during this time with my shoulder so i couldn't throw at all but i could still bat. My Coach didn't end up playing me and played our pick up players instead of me. I was not happy at all with him. He didn't even pitch our own pitchers he pitched our two pick up players which i think is very unfair for the girls who actually play on this team. This was the last group picture of the summer.

These are girls that i played summer ball with the summer of 2011 so last summer. Starting on the left with Whitney who we called "Baby Whit" because shes so tiny and always needed someone to take care of her. Then there's me. To the left of me but the right of you is Allison but we call her "Humm" because that's her last name. Then last but not least is Brandy but i call her "B-Randy" nothing too different from her name. These were my girls that summer i hung out with them all the time. We don't hang out as much anymore because they go to Doane College. That is where this picture was taken after one of their games.
